Decree

A decree is a legal proclamation, usually issued by a head of state such as the president of a republic, or a monarch (a royal decree), according to certain procedures (usually established in a constitution). It has the force of law. The particular term used for this concept may vary from country to country. The executive orders made by the President of the United States, for example, are decrees (although a decree is not exactly an order).

Examples of use of DECREE
1. The new decree abrogates Article No. 4 and 6 of the decree No. 3 for 1'83.
2. The newly–issued decree will replace Decree No. 64 of 2005.
3. All contracts signed under this decree will remain valid until they are amended or renewed by the new decree.
4. President Vladimir Putin signed the decree Sunday.
5. The decree, comprising 34 articles in 6 chapters, defines the scope of the decree objects subject to the decree, prohibited activities and regulations on investment, declaration, inspection and import–export.
